A Daughter of the Inland Empire

Eloise Reyes is a daughter of immigrants, attorney, and dedicated public servant who has spent her life standing up for our community and being a voice for the people. As a leader in the State Assembly, Eloise has led on delivering results for our community, fighting for clean air, accessible health care, career opportunities, and affordable child care.

Born and raised in the Inland Empire, Eloise grew up near the train tracks in South Colton. Although her family had modest means they had great aspirations for their children. They knew it would take great perseverance and a quality education to live a better life.

As a 12-year old girl, Eloise learned the value of hard work by picking grapes and onions in the fields with her family so they could afford new school clothes. After high school, Eloise worked as many as three jobs to put herself through college.

From picking onions to fighting for working families

After attending San Bernardino Valley College and the University of Southern California, she earned her law degree from Loyola Law School. Eloise went on to become the first Latina to open her own law firm in the Inland Empire, taking on big corporations on behalf of injured workers. Deeply involved in strengthening her community, she regularly volunteered to provide free legal services to struggling families and seniors, and she led a successful effort to stop the construction of a toxic waste dump in a residential neighborhood. Eloise also co-founded the Inland Empire Community Health Center and taught classes at Cal Poly Pomona.

Delivering results and putting community first

In the State Assembly, Eloise has been successful in delivering hundreds of millions of dollars to our communities by fighting for the Inland Empire’s fair share of funds in Sacramento.  She championed support for small businesses and rent relief for both tenants and landlords in response to COVID-19, she has secured resources for local parks, and she helped expand opportunities for college and job training.

Driven by service to the community, Eloise is running for State Senate to continue making a difference by delivering results that put people first and strengthen communities across the Inland Empire. Eloise is a fighter who will use her experience to bring educational opportunity for all, create good-paying jobs, support retirees and veterans, and build a brighter future for all in the Inland Empire.

Eloise is proud to call Colton home, and she’s blessed with a wonderful husband, Frank, a kind and intelligent son, Kristofer, and Mida, a very gentle Doberman.
